Hello all,
This is my first post, so pardon my ignorance on all things satellite!

I bought a samsung 32 TV that has a integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner, and I also recently bought a HP media pc that also has a QAM tuner. I am able to hook these up to my Dish-Network cable box and not have to just to tune to one channel 73?

Nope. Cable and satellite use different frequencies and modulation.

Welcome aboard.

Newer Dish HD receivers only have the ATSC tuner, not QAM or NTSC, and only output to the TV on the HDMI and composite cables. The ATSC channels will integrate into your Dish program guide with the satellite provided channels.

The QAM and NTSC channels will scan into your TV on the RF cable, and you can watch them by switching input modes on the TV.

If you don't have satellite, you shouldn't post this question in the Dish forum. Try one of the provider specific cable forums.

And :welcome

Once you start using the Dish Set Top Box's Menus, you won't want to use the TV's QAM tuner. Its much easier using the EPG, especially if you get the DVR (which you should).
