Hey everyone, I looked on my account under the Dish N' It Up section today, hoping down the road to get a 922 when they come out, and noticed that the prices for upgrading went down significantly.

For the Enhanced HD DVR (which I assume the 922 will be) it was $200/installed $150/shipped last week, and this week it is $75/installed and $75/shipped. (See image below)

Has this happened for anyone else? Is this because I am a customer in good standing? You think this price will apply to the 922?

Could you define 'customer in good standing'? Does that mean you subscribe / pay more than an average user or pay on time whatever be the amount?

I think it means you pay your bill on time on a regular basis, and I think it helps to be on automatic withdrawal. The other day I did the Platinum HD promo and the Dish dude told me I was a "customer in good standing".

I think that's talking about the 722 although I think according to some slide I saw the 722 is called the Enhanced HD Duo DVR or something like that. I recall reading in one of the CES threads that the 922 will have the world "Sling" in it's name.

Odds are they are lowering these prices because the 922 will be available and there needs to be a price distinction. I don't see too many people paying $400 + 24 month commitment for one, even $300 + commitment seems mighty pricey. So maybe the 922 will be offered somewhere around the old $200 pricepoint?

Either way, I'm delaying the Dish it Up of my odd SD receiver until it's available. A few more months of SD on that tv won't kill me.

Yeah that could very well be. It would make sense they are making room for the 922 pricing.

But does anyone else have those prices? Can you confirm it?

i have looked at that page many times since october or when ever they were talking about the 722k on the last tech forum. it has been the same amount since then, 50 for one 75 for the other, but now that i just looked at it on their website again, i think that the installed price was different. interesting:confused:

Mine is $200 installed for enhanced.. but I've only been a customer in good standing for 15 months.

I must not be a good customer :D

I had Dish for about 3 years ... took about 3 years off ... and then signed up again fall of 2007. I therefore must have left their good graces ...

My prices are about double to at times triple what you are showing ...

No worries ... I have a 722 serving 2 TVs ... it is all that I need. I would get a 211 before I got a 922 probably anyway ... the kids currently do not need to record ...

Mine is $75/$125. It used to be $150/$200. I've been on autopay or annual pay since I started with E* in August 1998. I'm have AT200 w/Silver HD and no premiums with a 722 so I'm not a big spending sub. My last Dish'NITUp was April 2008 so it hasn't been a year since the last one. I paid $100 installed for the 722 and that included a new pole-mounted 1000.2 with new cable runs. I think subs may be able obtain a better deal by calling and bargaining sometimes.

I had a 301 in the fall of 2007. Then I made the "mistake" of purchasing an HD TV in Nov 2007 and saw the OTA HD ... and went ... "WOW"

So in January of 2008 I upped to HD with an 18 month commitment. I did get 6 months of PlatinumHD out of it ... but I dropped that a few months back ... to go from DDA100 + BronzeHD + PlatinumHD to DDA200 + SilverHD. A few weeks back I then switched to DDA TurboHD Gold. I even have done the PPV VOD 1080P a few times. Maybe I have switched my packages too many times? Maybe it is because my commitment is not over yet?

Again though ... I am not at a point where I need to upgrade yet anyway. My oldest is 8 and currently does not know the difference between HD and SD TV anyway ... I'll worry about it when I have to replace the TV in the kid's play room ...

mine says the same it has for quite awhile 125 installed and 75 shipped for the enhanced HD DVR reciever

Hey All , first post so don't shoot the newbie ;)

I just upgraded yesterday as a "valued" customer through a mailer that gave me the 622 installed for free (replacing a 522), free HBO/Starz for 3 months, Free PlatinumHD for 3 months and the best part, 3 credits of $39.99 to my programming (1st month, 10th month, 20th month) for a re-up of 24 months and of course the $10 adder to my AT250.

The 888 number seems to have gone directly into the customer retention group.

AND I feel pretty bad for the dish installer because we've been below zero and have probably 20 inches of snow on the ground, I'll have the hot coffee ready.

$75 to upgrade to a 922 is not going to happen till maybe really SOON 2 yrs from now. A piece of electronics that good will not dip below $200. with a 2 year agreement. HOW COULD IT? for first adopters?

dish it up is based on your sub time 6month 12 month 24 month and how well you pay on time.

If you have had dish for 6 months or have done an upgrade/move in past 6 months you fall under plan C

Plan B for 12months or more and Plan A for 24 months, each one has its own pricing customer A Can get a 722 upgrade / extra recever for $125 as long as it wont bring the acount up to 6 lessed tuners.. 612 recevers count as one so you culd have a max of 6 612 on an acount if dishing it up every 6 months but wuld fall under the plan C.

Also its best to make freinds with retailers as in our office if some one is alwas referuring customers club dish and what not we alwas keep them on our now list.... Any problem they have or ther referals we go now!! Same day service call and free dishing it up for the main acount as it shuld be with a customer service job ...
