Just as title says dish has made changes to my account without my authorization
the first change they made was they changed the phone number associated with my account
they also change my web login details when i enter my case sensitive user name/password the site tells me wrong user name/password combination

i call dish they tell me no one has access to make such changes in the company but obviously someone does
cause changes were made

these a**holes are f**king with the wrong customer, now i know why Bob H. hates them with a passion

Um maybe if you used a stronger user name and password your account wouldn't be hijacked. I'd check for excess receivers on your account.

Dish didn't change jack on you. Only a Database admin would have that level of access and he/she is at corporate and would have no reason to.

My guess if this actually happened is you used some combination of your name and a stupidly easy password either name or common phrase that can be dictionary attacked. My more reasonable guess is you simply miss typed what ever your using. Caps Lock is a bitch when you hit it instead of shift.

If this is isolated to one user, I would say user error, but if it is more widespred. a DB admin could have made a wholesale change on a field in the user database and eliminated capitalization etc.

As for the phone number, seems odd. What did they change it too? Did you try calling it to see what is on the other end? Possibly a reverse lookup on it?

As for your last line, I don't think that is necessary.

Hehehe, stone you always seem to have something with dish going on.

Ok TheDishNetworkInstaller your info is wrong, any csr can change a phone number, they can also change the login name and password of the webmail access to. I would have to suspect that stone most likely was on the phone with dish at one point probably inregards to adding that 8th receiver a while back and if the conversation had went south that the csr got a little revenge probably. Generaly speaking though this is the only time in my lengthy career with Dish that Ive ever heard of anyones account info being changed so basicly stone if you handled yourself on the phone with a csr the same you do on the boards here when your on a rant about dish then I could see the possibility of some $9.00 an hour csr screwing with you.

Especially if he managed to inject a few of those choice words he used in the last sentence of his post above.:D

Stone, I'd do a story on this stuff, I'm sure the network boss would give you a few minutes. :eureka:

Van you're right so times i get a little fired up but ere i pay my lengthy bill every month yet i get treated like sh*t by every csr i deal with, maybe dish needs to employ people who actually take pride in their job and actually value the customer.
I know direct, bell, and starchoice don't treat their customers like sh*t.
Wake the f**k up Dish

I should goto the BBB and stop by my Attorney Generals office and file complaints

If it will stop you from posting curse words in every other line of your posts, please do so.

There is really no need for it. We all get the point you are upset.

Get a PIN for your account and see if it happens again. Have them clear out your username and password so that you can get another one. Make sure you use a username and password that nobody will think of but at the same time make sure it is something that you cannot forget.

stone
please refrain from the vulgar language. I know personally the stuff you have gone through with Dish :)

Since when have they had the ability to mess with username and passwords on the webinterface? I was under the impression Level 2 tech has a reset script they have access to if the account had a valid email address, but not that they could actually set username and passwords.

guys im sorry if i offended you with my colorful language, in the future i will choose my words more carefully
sorry
No hard feelings. I can empathize somewhat with you, but it does seem like they have put you through the gauntlet at times.

I think you might be happier with D*. If you are so dissatisfied, then I'm sure D* would love to get your business.

Stone,
Think you need to refrain with the language, you always seem to say last time but a couple days later, same thing. Anyways, perhaps they are trying to play a game with you seeing as you add more locals than the law permits and finally realized your trick to obtaining more so they lock your web account.

Well first off I did not write their website code, so how can you try and fault someone for trying to add channels which they feel they are entitled too, their website tells me I'm eligible, yet apparently shriva knows what's best for me and all of you as well. As far as them locking a website i presume if that was done the error that would show up on their site would be login unavailable please try again later or something to that effect not your user name/password combination is INVALID, that definitely sounds to me like ACCOUNT TAMPERING

Obviously Pils my foul language has offended you
I'm sorry

I suggest if your so sensitive in the future you refrain from either reading my threads or don't reply in my threads.

Although Ill do my best to tone it down for y'all
