Hello,
I bought a used Winegard GM-1518 Carryout automatic RV dish with a Vip211K. The disk has dip switches for various providers. I plan to use Dish Network and in Pennsylvania. What is the best settings to use for my travels within Pennsylvania? From what I can gather I need to use either dish hybrid or Eastern arc.

Dish, 110, 119 and 129
Dish hybrid 61.5, 100 and 119
Dish Eastern arc, 61.5, 72 and 77

Also will my Vip 211k need reactivated when not hooked to a dish for weeks/months at a time?

Thanks,
Earl

I'm just east of Philly. I just switched my dish over to the eastern arc with the eastern arc LNBF Hybrid. Before I installed my Hopper 3 my 722K worked great with the new configuration. My Hopper 3 works great also.

As far as I know you will only need 61.5 and 72.

As for the 211K needing to reactivated I don't know. Maybe you can send a PM to one of the DIRT reps and they can tell you.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm hoping to get my 211k activated this weekend.

Anyone happen to know how often the receiver needs to be used before it's deactivated?

Thanks,
Earl

I set my dish settings to hybrid arc and Eastern arc. The strengths were about the same for both. So that didn't help me decide which arc would be best to use. Lol

I once had a 512 get deactivated when I hadn't used it for more than two months, in spite of keeping it hooked up to power and the satellites. On the other hand, I have left a ViP211 completely unhooked for a month at a time without any problems. So, my advice would be to use the receiver at least once per month to be on the safe side.

FYI Dish 3 yr price lock + Netflix (1yr) ends tonight
