Dish formatted HDD with Direct TV

Can I use a Dish formatted external HDD with Direct TV? I get error code 75-137 when I try. I formatted the drive in windows and still get the same error code. I'm using the USB not SATA if that's the problem. I know the drive is good. It's a 320GB drive.

It needs to be connected eSata for D* ... usb won't work.
