On the motor, there's a little arrow to tell me where exactly I have the elevation set. Now on my dish (39" digiwave) there are just the bolts. I had been sort of guestimating the elevation on the dish since there was no arrow to point to exactly where it was set, but when I was setting up a small dish today (finally got NASA!) it looked like the edge of the bolt on that dish was the elevation indicator. Is this standard on dishes? Should the edge of the bolt indicate the elevation? Or is it the center of the bolt? Or does this vary from dish to dish?

Sorry if that didn't make much sense and thanks for the help.

depends on the dish

some dishes have a edge that you can see and **Most** of the time you use that. If there is no line then its the centre of the bolt

case in points...primestar dish & hotdish

Primestar has the edge so you use that
Hotdish has no edge (its hidden) so you use the centre of the bolt)
