This came across my news feed - Dish's Charlie Ergen looks to merge Dish and EchoStar, Semafor reports

What would be the implications of this merger? I assume nothing from the Dish Network customer?

May be consolidating the two under one corporation so they can more easily borrow money against the total assets

I actually posted something like this a while back in another thread that Charlie would try this to have more money available to him by merging DISH Network and Echostar. Looks like Charlie was listening or we think alike.

Who knows he does read the site. in addition I know he gets daily print outs of interesting posts from here as well.
