Hi we have a DISH500 system with a DVR522 tuner servicing two TV's and a regular receiver servicing two more TVs. Lately the one TV connected to the DVR which is not in the same room as the DVR sveral times over the past 10 days has lost its signal temporarily but then went through the automatic transponder check and reconnected.
Well we decided we wanted to change which room has the DVR and swap the DVR with the regular receiver. I went outside and checked the cabeling outside to find out which cable belonged to which room. I then swapped the two cables outside and we swapped of course the DVR with the regular receiver. In the room we just disconnected the cable coming from the wall from where it went into the diplexer.
The two TVs connected to the regular receiver work fine. On the DVR however it is a different story. One tuner gets a great signal lock and works while the other tuner only can get a signal lock on Transponder 2 oin satellite 119 and the strength is only about 30. This means sometimes I get TV receiption on that tuner but most of the time it is not enough to connect.
I have tried swapping out diplexers and the separator between the two systems (DVR and regular receiver) and each time the result is the same, the regular recevier works, the DVR does not on tuner 1.
I of course have dropped DsihHome Protection three months ago. Does that mean if the issue is the DVR itself that I will have to pay for a new DVR?
Any suggestions would be welcome...
Thanks
Mike
