Dish DVR recording issues

I am new to satellietguys. I joined because I am having a very hard time figuring out my connections. I have a Dish Network DVR 510. I have recorded several movies/shows on it. I want to record them to my dvd recorder (Funai SV2000 dvd/vcr combo). However, I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. It will not record. I get a snowy screen on preview before finalizing the disc. I'm not sure I have my connections right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The video connections on the 510 are (in picture quality order) S-video, yellow composite and RF. If your DVD recorder has an s-video input, use that, next would be the yellow composite connection, then lastly resort to the RF (ch 3/4) connection.

If you are getting a snowy screen, you may be on the wrong RF channel or have a bad cable.

Be sure the DVD recorder input is set to the type of output you are using from the 510.
