I'm currently cleaning out my basement and I have two old dish boxes, as mentioned in the topic title. Are these worth anything, maybe to sell on eBay or craigslist, or should they just go to the curb on trash day?
Are they still activating 625?If you where a dealer you could do an out of warranty exchange on the 510 for $75 + $15 ship and get a 625.
As far as the 301, junk it and keep the card
Sorry bud, these two of my favorite receivers (DP301 and DISHPlayer DVR510) are obsoleted by E*, but if I had these receivers, I'll scrap the parts of the receivers, but I will choose to keep the front control panels.I'm currently cleaning out my basement and I have two old dish boxes, as mentioned in the topic title. Marginal chance of selling for parts. Just recycle them. What can I do with the control panels?

Exactly, dealers on eBay trying to dumb them on clueless buyersIt was actually posted on this site back in May '16 E* isn't activating - or even exchanging - ANY SD receivers:
DISH Ending new MPEG 2 Receiver Activations
So I have NO clue why Claude would even suggest this...

He said a retailer could RMA it, Dish used to (might still) have amnesty programs where retailers could send back receivers that were outdated or had a balance in exchange for a sellable refurb.
I don't know where these prices came from. As a residential customer, Dish sold me a Wally and a ViP612 for only $50 each earlier this year. I double-checked to make sure both are listed as purchased, not leased....The problem is that 211’s and Wally’s for example are sold to dealers for $50.

DVR equipment is a little better. Dealer cost is $150...
