While not chump change it does show from your link that it is in decline-Net income attributable to DISH Network totaled $317 million for the second quarter 2019, compared to net income of $439 million from the year-ago quarter.

They make hundreds of millions of dollars a quarter. Obviously it's not going to be time to hang out the going out of business sign for a long, long time.

Dish is currently losing subs just like all traditional pay TV operators. There will come a point in the not too distant future when that decline will stop and the sub count will level off. There are millions and millions of customers who have no real choice for TV other than satellite, kind of like a guaranteed minimum.

Also, as streaming becomes more expensive and people realize that it's not all it's cracked up to be then traditional subs for satellite and cable might actually bump up a little.

Will be interesting to see what kind of impact the availability of Starlink and other low-earth-orbit satellite broadband providers have on the "guaranteed minimum" number of subscribers for DBS satellite TV. I suspect we'll see a decent number of rural Americans decide that they'd rather pay for a combo of broadband + Netflix + Hulu (or some live streaming cable TV service like YouTube TV) as opposed to sticking with DISH or DirecTV.

Yea, we'll see. I'll believe all the pie in the sky claims when I see them. I've heard the same things before from Viasat and Hughesnet.

A better question is once streaming takes hold is how many linear channels will survive....I think the premium movie channels will be the first to go streaming only....or just collapse back to 1 or 2 channels like the old days...there are alot of channels that just carry duplicate programming..like the discovery suite

Count me as a customer who will not drop Dish. I am disappointed that I lost the ability to see my Indians and Bengals when Dish lost Fox Sports Ohio and Fox Sports Cincinnati. I have Apple TV, Roku 4, Amazon 4K Firestick, and Google Chromecast. I have Spectrum Internet with no datacaps and speed of 100 Mbps. I even own a Recast TV.

My two Hopper3 receivers are so much better and much easier to use than any of my streaming devices. I realize that I am paying more for the privilege of having the superior Hopper3. I also have 3 external hard drives full of Dish content.
Both of my sons use Dish Anywhere to watch content on my Hopper3 receivers. So count me as a loyal Dish customer. I am happy that Dish was able to get the BTN back before I missed any OSU Buckeye football.

I had a ton of comments on this topic but left others to they’re devices. You won’t get my wife off dish remotes and when prime is available on our H3 and all our media library! Happy upcoming Birthday Hipcat. I’m 62 since April and
I do believe the consumer will set the pricing!

What are the other options for RSNs if a person chooses to keep Dish but needs RSNs? (For me that will simply will make Dish that much more expensive.)
