Dish broadband coming soon?

I recently read an article that Dish launched a satellite and will have broadband for internet and phone. is this true? If so when do you think it will happen because I dont know if I should sign a long term contract with AT&T if Dish can offer internet. Would this be nationwide if it happens?

Yes, if all goes well in a few short months or maybe weeks the sat broadband speeds will greatly increa$e. Also see Excede for how it's working today.

If they can get the caps to a decent level it will be a competitive offering.If not nothing more than rural where dsl and cable aren't offered.

Yes. Depending on what else is on offer, Dish may be the best choice. But I suspect more cost effective Internet service from AT&T.
