Anyone else notice that the recording time remaining counter seems to be using new math? My 921 says I have 12 hours of SD time remaining with only about 100 hours by actual count saved and 4 hours of HD with only about 10 hours actually saved.

Yeah - something definitely fishy about your numbers.

First, the SD:HD ratio used for "time remaining" is EXACTLY 7:1. Always.

Second, the displayed numbers are just two ways of expressing the amount of free space - there is NOT any separation of SD vs. HD.

Finally, the free space numbers are optimistic, and vary by the type of programming. For the stuff I watch, disk usage averages about 40% higher than it "should" be.

Ever experienced any ZSR's?....

Yes. I've lost count and always on the LA CBS-HD feed. I don't have OTA where I live. I was thinking that ZSR's might have something to do with the time remaining inaccuracy.

Changing from Direct Tv to Dish
