Dear Sat Guys Forum,
I am having problems with the 8VSB OTA tunner on Dish 811, Dish 211, and Dish 222 receivers in the Rhinelander/Wausau WI DMA.
When I perform a scan with my Hauppauge WinTV USB tuner I get:
4.1 WMOW-CW RF Channel 12
4.2 WMOW-DT RF Channel 12
4.3 THIS-TV RF Channel 12
12.1 WJFW-DT RF Channel 16
12.2 WJFW-DT RF Channel 16
When I perform this same scan with a Dish receiver above I get:
12.1 WJFW-DT RF Channel 16
12.2 WJFW-DT RF Channel 16
12.3 THIS-TV RF Channel 12
These channels get overwritten and therefore are not viewable:
4.1 WMOW-CW RF Channel 12
4.2 WMOW-DT RF Channel 12
If I perform a manual scan of RF Channel 12 only I get:
12.1 WMOW-CW RF Channel 12
12.2 WMOW-DT RF Channel 12
12.3 THIS-TV RF Channel 12
If I let it sit for a few minutes it will automatically update the RF Channel 16 channels and overwrite WMOW-CW and WMOW-DT.
It looks like the Dish receivers are assigning the virtural channels on their own and NOT using the PSIP data. If they were using the PSIP data they would be scanning in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3.
Any info on how to correct this so I can scan in all 5 of these channels at once and be able to view them all?
Thanks !
Hman
