I need some advice. I bought a 32 inch Insignia Hd TV and hooked it up to a Dish 622 receiver. I first jacked it into component. Worked great until it turned the TV off. When I turned the TV back on the sound does not work, so I have to push input and pick another source and then push input again to get the sound back. I then went and bought HDMI cord. Worked great until I turned the TV off. When I turned the TV back on the picture is badly compressed. So, I have to hit input and choose composite. Hit input again and select HDMI to fix the problem every time I turn the TV on. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

This is my second Insignia TV. The first one did the same thing so I returned it
and got this one. I bought this TV at Best Buys. Do you think that I need to return this one also. I've only had it a week.

If it doesn't work well, return it. Or call dish to replace 622... but they would have to do it quickly so you could return the TV if it still doesn't work. I had 622 for a long time, no problems when using component or HDMI with my Sony 42 inch. Maybe you just have to buy sony ...

A different model of the same TV won't change a "poor HDMI/HDCP implementation", as harshness mentioned, on your TV. This is in the TV's software. HDMI/HDCP has a standard that manufacturers are supposed to follow. Most do, some don't... There's really no way to know if Insignia followed the standard and Dish didn't or vis-versa. You can try reporting it to Dish and letting them know what model you've got and any revision it might be.

In the meantime, use component... Sound doesn't work when you turn it back on though. Sounds like a low-quality TV. Do other people who own this model report similar problems ??

I took the Insignia back and got an HP. So far it works great. Thanks for all the feedback!
