Hello,

I am trying to desperatly get my Dish 500 to pick up both 110/119. For some reason I am only able to get 110 no matter what I try. I sweep back and forth and only get 110. I know the DP has a built in switch so I only have one RG6 coming out of my dish, but I am tempted to hook up a SW21 to see how that works.

Does anyone have any tips on how to aim these currectly and get them set up. I live in Topeka 66614 so maybe someone could look at that settings i think the skew i set it at is 111 .

Thanks!

Cover the eye for 110 with aluminum foil and aim at 119. Once you get a signal for 119 run check switch and 110 should fall into place. Do not use the SW21 for a DP LNB, it won't work.

I dont get it because on my Dish 500 it says 110 on the far right side and 119 on the Left side. When if you look at the coordinates to hit 119 it seems should be the opposite because 119 should be further west than 110, and how the LNB's seems opposite. And with the skew gets kinda crazy. I am sorry for newbie stuff but this is really getting to me.

Thanks for the tip though I will try that

the reason you think they are "backwards" is because it hits the dish and richochets to the LNB. When you work with multiple LNB's, they will be opposite of what they are in the sky. So from behind the dish 119 is to the left of 110

In the below picture is an example. The closest LNB is 119 (the one on the piece of wood), then the next one ia 111.1, 107.3, 103 & 101

The 119 is the farthest LNB on the left if I stood behind the dish

Is that a pic of your set-up Iceberg?

yep :)

I have a Toroidal T90 dish that allowed me to combine my Free to Air stuff, my StarChoice subscription, and 119 from Dish onto one dish (110 is on a fixed 24" dish)

The LNB's that I have it at are in my signature and here is a couple more pictures

Well I look at your pictures and it seems like an obviosly diffrent set up than the dish500. Yours are pointed towarded a reflector? and then bounced to the dish. Mine are pointed directly at the Dish.

So to get 119 and 110, what should I do, as far as where should I sweep. Is there a easy way to say set the elevation and azimuth for just 119 and no skew than lock onto 119 first, but wondering from which LNB should i been locking this one onto. I guess im just drawing a blank here, I appologize. Cause the whole thing of 119 being on the left trips me up, cause I would think its the further away than 110. Should I sweep from left or right to get both?

Thanks for your time and answers.

You've got to be kidding me! I hadn't seen your setup Berg, how many satellites is that picking up?

If you stand behind the dish, the lnb on the left side is 119 the one on the right is 110. They're also labeled in the plastic bracket, with small numbers. Like I said, cover 110 with aluminum foil and look for 119 then run check switch. It's gonna make your life easier.

13 satellites picked up at one time

FTA satellites
72, 74, 79, 83, 85, 91, 93, 97, 101, 103

StarChoice Subscription
107.3, 111.1

Dish Network Subscription
119 (110 is on a 24” dish)

Here is the review I did on the dish

Correct, The T90 is a dual reflector dish so the LNB’s are aimed at the sub reflector. But the reason of the picture was more to show that with multiple satellites, the LNB’s are on then opposite side of what they are in the sky

What receiver are you using? What do you have for LNB Legacy or Dish Pro?
I suggest that you disconnect the cable from the back of the receiver and run a check switch with nothing connected this will clear the switch matrix.
