I recently installed a Fortec Star dish and had to disconnect my older Dish 500 one. I connected my Fortec Star using the Dish Network Switch and ran a cable from the Fortec receiver "loop" to the Dish 500 receiver. The Fortec works fine, but I am only getting signal on the 110 W but not the 119W (and it is not being detected at all). I ran a direct connection from the satellite to my Dish 500 receiver, but I am having the same issue. I am getting a super strong signal on the 110 W, but nothing on the 119 and it' snot detected.

I called Dish support; and I got some customer service reps who know this stuff as much as I do or less reading back to me from their manuals.

Any idea to what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.

Assume you has the legacy twin, from what you has discribed, the switch at the LNB or your dish receiver has damaged or either one is in fault.

That loop is probably not passing the information from the receiver that the dish needs. You are trying to use this like a splitter and you need to feed that receiver directly from the switch.

Still no luck!

Thank you guys for the input.

I am using an SW21 and it was working just fine until I repositioned the dish. But to be on the safe side, I tried to bypass that and ran a direct wire from the antenna to the receiver, but no luck either.

Are you sure you have the Fortec aimed correctly? sounds like you aren't receiving a signal from 119 if you ran the line direct without a switch.

I agree now with boda. I misread the first post, thinking he had good signals on the new receiver but not the dish receiver. This sounds like the skew is not set, or you have the 119 locked onto the 110 by mistake.

I keep losing one channel

Dish installed last night, no grounding??
