Dish 1000 Repeak

Last weekend while a light snow storm went through I lost all channels off 129. They are coming out to repeak the dish tomorrow.

Watching RAVE right now with a clear sky the 942 goes into acquiring signal (TP30). Current signal is 59.

110 and 119 are fine.

What kind of signal strength should I be getting - to make sure this job is done right.

If this keeps up I'm going to ask for my 61.5 dish back.

On my 942, i have 49 on TP30, and have 60-70's on TP 11/12 on 110, 119 and 129.

I want to repeak mine also but only lost the signal once when we had really bad rain, we dont get snow

That's why when I get my 622 and Dish 1000, I'm going to be keeping my 61.5 as well.

I'm in the 60's in 11/12 on 129. 80's on 11/12 on 110 and 119.

My old 500 - 300 combination did alot better than this.

Some times it is better to stay with the dish 500's on 110/119 and get a second for 61.5 or 129 i had a dish 1000 and it droped signal all the time could not get that good of readings so after a month of messing around i set back up my dish 500 for 110/119 and put back up my other dish 500 on 129.

dish 500 on 110/119 signal of 92-117 avg

dish 500 on 129 signal of 87-103 avg

and OTA for locals

The dish 1000 you had to find a middle of the road signal on all 3 sats for it to stay in but rain and snow killed it fast even with lite rains or snow

But also depends on were you live the 2 dish setup for me is the best

Think I'm going to push to get the old 500/300 combo back.

Upper 60s on 129, trans 21
80s and 90s on 110
100+ on 119

Will lose 129 if it rains hard (drops into mid 40s)
They had got me into the 80s on 129, but then 110 would not come in

Got 80s to 100+ with Dish 500 (except 110 was stronger than 119)

Hmmm ....

These are very low readings.

Is this due to the D1000's design?

Or poor installation?

Hard for me to believe that Dish is replacing D500s with D1000s that pull in 30% less signal.

[Edit] Oh, after posting I see that talk000 is pulling in decent numbers on 110 & 119.

Will the fact that I'm still using DP34's instead of a DPP44 be causing this?

signal is better, and it doesn't mater what type of switch you have it should work but what LNB are you using if it is DPP then have them swap for DP with your switch and check all connections and trace cable for damages

I'm using the Dish 1000 with the DP34, and I have similar readings on the 129, but no dropouts.

Just checked: Dish 1000/DP34; I have 83 - 88 signal strength on TP 11/12 on sats 110, 119 and 129. Lowest is a 67 on a few TPs on 129, highest is a 115 on my spotbeam (TP 10) on sat 110.

Same symptoms on the 211 plus every so often tiling....
