I had a new 1000.2 installed free by "Dish installer" not a local company. It took him 6 HOURS to do the job. He mounted the dish on the roof and I had very low signal's on 119-110-129 with periodic signal lose. Called Dish CS and they sent a guy back and said he did the best at tweaking the signals with slight improvement. I had a 500 that I installed myself in a different location with excellent signals so I decided to move the 1000.2 to the old 500 location myself and was able to get 90's on both 110-119 but no 129. Did switch check multiple times and I get "conn" for input 3. I have a Vip722 and a 301 connected. I did notice my elevation that got a stronger signal is 2 points higher then suppose to be with the skew set to what dish says. Any help? Thanks

Elevation is usually 2 higher than dish says. Sounds like you have trees or a steep roof blocking the 129.
Thanks for the input. It looks to have a clear shot to the south, that being said there are 2trees on the street that I have split in between for the current signal. I can remount the Dish left or right...with the high signal on 110 +119 and the location of the 129 sat location up there,would it be the tree to the right that is blocking the 129 signal, looking from behind the Dish. Thanks for the help.
Most likely it is the tree to the right. If you stand behind the dish from left to right you have 110, 9 degrees to the right you have 119, and 10 degrees to the right of that you have 129. The elevation usually drops about 5 degrees on each satellite from left to right. In my area 110 is at 37 degrees elevation, 119 is 31 degrees, 129 is 24 degrees elevation. Where do you live? Do you still have the d500? You might have better luck pointing it at 129 by itself from another location, or even pointing it at 61.5 which is sometimes much higher than 129 and carries the same HD programming.
North Dakota 581. Yes I still have the other Dish. If I use that for 129 only would it be a stronger signal, meaning would the possible branches be less of an isssue? One the 1000.2, If I have a stronger 119 (90) and with 110 slightly less (82) and 129 (0) could that mean that I am onto the 119 and hitting the 110 at the high point or the low point of the sat therefore missing 129 over or under it? Are the skews given by Dish accurate? Thanks
Skews are accurate, (provide the mast is plumb) elevations you fine tune, use the dish provided settings as a good starting point. It sounds like the tree is probably interfering with your LOS to the 129 due to that birds low elevation.
One way to be able to tell if your missing under or over, left to right is when your in the check switch summary
SAT1 should be 119, SAT2 should be 110, SAT 3 X (in your case SAT3 will be X) this will show if the birds are pointing into the LNB in the correct order.
You could try and take your other dish and point it to 61.5 (southeast) and get your HD that way and plug that into the IN port of your 1000.2 dish. As said sounds like more of a LOS problem. Depending on what kind of LNB you have on your other dish as to whether or not you could do this, would need more info or just research the different configurations with DP.

The branches will still be an issue no matter what dish you use. If they relocated the dish when they did the upgrade they probably found a spot where they could pick up 129 (and it sounds like in doing so they compromised 110/119). Try putting your dish 500 in their spot and pointing it at 129 and tie that into your 1000.2 input. Otherwise call them back out there to make it right. If you do have them come out make sure they try for 61.5
110 always reads lower than 119 for me. What are you using to get your readings? The point dish screen on the receiver? If those readings are with the 'newly calibrated' software they are really high. If they are with the old software they are really low. Either way, if you are hitting 110 and 119 you will almost always hit 129 unless you have a LOS issue.
I am using the point dish screen on the 301. The 722 has much lower 45-51 on the "modified" signal meter. I am going to try and get 61.5 with the 500. Does that have a stronger signal then 129? Thanks for all the input. I will try the suggestions this upcoming weekend and hopefully it will work.
Finally, thanks to all. I made a temp tripod to test different locations around where I had my original 500 and yes it was a LOS issue. I am still trying to tweak the location before I cement a post but on the original non modified signal screen I get 105 on 119, 100 on 110, and 65 on 129. Still need some tweaking but I found the 129 SAT. Thanks again. 30-40 points higher then the D tech that said his mounting location was the best to get a signal and that what he got for a signal was the best I would get!!!After a 6hr install you think he could have done better!!
1000.2 install is pretty straight forward, sounds like he/she was just having one of those days @ 6 hrs..... glad it worked out for ya.
