I just ordered the only model that appears to support all 16 that the diseqc 1.1 supports. Most switches are 1x8, and i need to go beyond that.

Its the EMP-Centauri. Does anyone else own one and are they good devices?

The 8 port switch is fine for all the extra rooms, but i need the 1x16 for my personal main system to tap extra satellites that will not be used by any of the other in house systems. Who would of ever thought i would need a 1x16. Once i get it, ill be able to free up 1 2x5 multi switches to access another fixed KU location that is currently disconnected from the whole house satellite network.

I have the EMP-Centauri 8x1 and it is a fine switch. I can't imagine the 16x1 performing any less :)

Those are really good switches. I sold them a few years ago, you can't go wrong with that brand!

I got it. Ill need to silicone it. It has holes in the metal corners, and i don't want water/snow penetration. The plastic shield won't prevent our snow drifts from coming up from underneath. It works great. It was nice to set Diseqc 1.1 ports beyond 8. This allows me to save ports 1-8 for the shared whole house network, and ports 9-16 for my DCII signals that i can only tune on my Main system and is a waste of 5x4 multi switch use. Ports 9/10/11 are for 107w/110w/111w which are watchable only on my Main system.

On another note, it was a bit of a pain swapping from my old diseqc switch to the EMP, because the weather had erased all labeling and didn't know one port from another - and then i remembered i had an extra brand new switch and grabbed that out of the closet to know which was which, and i had to re-do a few RG6 cables to increase the length. Ill take a picture and upload it..

I keep all my switches and connections inside a weatherproof box behind and under one of the C-band dishes. The dish keeps the sun off and the box stays reletively cool. Running into a problem though... the box is getting too small for all the switches, wires, ground blocks etc...
Not too long ago it seemed overkill to have a 4-port diseqc switch when I used one Ku quad LNBF and one C-band LNB. Now we're talking 16. This hobby is way too easy to get carried away with! :)
