I've asked before and I'll try again....I'm in Orlando and we still do not have our PBS station in HD. When can we expect it? Also our last newtork affiliate (WB) WKCF-TV 18 is still not available in HD. Their owner (Hearst) has the NBC affiliate available in HD here. Can we get a status update on these two locals?

Thanks!

We do not receive any information about carrying a channel typically until it has launched. Unfortunately, we don't have any information as to when/if we will ever carry these stations in HD.

One, there has to space on the spot beam in that area to add more locals. Look up the spotbeam maps on the list and see how many channels are on the spotbeam carrying your locals. If Hearst owns both your CW and NBC, then likely when their current carriage agreement expires they will ask for both channels to be carried in HD. Why would Dish pay more (which is what will happen) to add an HD version of a channel if they already have a contract to carry it in SD at a lower rate?

Even a huge market like Chicago is still waiting for PBS in HD. WTTW blames Dish and Dish blames WTTW. Meanwhile I have to suffer watching truncated picture. I suspect that Dish is at fault here because somehow they don't carry PBS in HD in many if not most markets.

What is absurd is that the SD version is not available to OTA broadcast viewers. Yet the HD picture is downrezzed and presented letterboxed and framed for retransmission.

You can always try OTA it might just give you better reception than DISH does.

Unfortunately I am too far from downtown Chicago to get WTTW without an outdoor Antenna. I find it very strange that all the "for profit" stations are on Dish in HD but not the public ones.

2 Hopper/4Joey system installed yesterday - AWESOME!

Joey skipping to live tv?
