NBA gearing up
DataDigesters

15 team specific NBA channels are in test mode to provide games directly from the NBA's Content Command Center as a contingency if Diamond loses the rights this season.

RIP Bally Arizona (1996-2023) and SportsNet Rocky Mountain (1988-2023)

Targetted INFO channels for the Jazz and Suns, with the Jazz slate reusing what was the SD dispute slate for Nexstar/Mission/White Knight.

Continuing prep to move the D12/TPN 14 and D11/TPN 4 channels to other transponders. (Maybe the long game is freeing up 2 transponders for additional part time HD feeds if these 15 NBA teams leave Bally Sports, as they already had to skip some Canadian CI feeds for last night's NHL Frozen Frenzy)

I wonder why they turned on the Puerto Rico League Pass channels early in the morning? Do they just use a clean DirecTV slate before each game?
Also expect an HD part time feed in use on channel 9538 broadcasting Power Slap 5 to all business accounts tonight

They just remap them to the RSNs. Someone in Puerto Rico would have to confirm what they actually see, but I'm guessing it's a banner message until they get authorized to view the feed at gametime, like what we occasionally see if they leave a remap on too long and the part time feed goes back to PPV mode.

Hopefully never, or not until Disney fully shutters those channels or at least stops airing first run content on them. That Charter deal was horrible for fans of their content as those dropped channels still have first run shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Good Trouble and the final seasons of Archer and Grownish, which Spectrum subscribers now have to pay $7.99 (17.99 ad free) extra for as Hulu is not part of the DTC deal. Along with missing out on Freeform's popular stunts that predate Disney and even FOX owning the channel, like 31 Nights of Halloween and 25 Days of Christmas. In Disney XD's case their first run anime like Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade and Bakugan are not available on Disney+, while Disney+ is months behind many of Disney Junior's and Disney XD's originals. They also threw their spanish speaking viewers under the bus by dropping Baby TV, Nat Geo Mundo and Disney XD (which going back to the Toon Disney days has been part of the spanish tier as the SAP feed has dubs of all their programming)

Not to mention both DIRECTV and DISH serve that niche market of customers living in areas where affordable datacap free/low latency broadband isn't available because it wasn't "profitable" to wire their neighborhood and certain telco providers like Verizon flat out refused to accept state and federal broadband funds as it meant they would have to actually serve those neighborhoods with more than 3 Mbps DSL.

And hopefully the provider integration isn't anything like Peacock's, where it's impossible to upgrade to the ad free option if you opt for the provider bundled billing, but from what I'm seeing people who still want the traditional packaging won't even be able to take advantage of the bundled Disney+ offer unless they switch to one of the "select" plans where you end up losing access to a lot more channels.

I thought the FXX stuff moved back to FX last season? Granted you don't think that Disney is going to move content around as a result of this? I feel like if this was a concession made as a prelude to eventually dropping these channels, they would have a plan to consolidate more original content on a single station (be that Disney Channel, Nat Geo, and FX).

Nope, the channels were dropped by Spectrum in August, and they are still scheduling exclusive first run programming on all of them. Archer's finale event will be on FXX in December, and the other shows are slated to return to FXX or Freeform next year. Hulu is the only DTC platform that has next day airings of those shows, while Disney+ doesn't get Freeform's content until several months later when the season finishes airing.

For the younger audience, in addition to Disney XD's anime, Disney Junior also has originals which don't air on Disney Channel's preschool block. Animated shows like Kiff and Hailey's On It are also considered Disney XD originals in the VOD library, even though they simulcast on Disney Channel, so Spectrum customers likely lost TV Everywhere/VOD access to those shows.

this will likely affect the Phoenix Suns broadcasts on NBA League Pass, but when the Sixers play at home and the home feed airs on League Pass, DirecTV would air the away feed on the NBA mix channel (750). Tonight they’re playing the Raptors in Toronto, DirecTV is airing the away feed (NBCSPhilly) but it’s not airing on the mix channel

We will wait to see what will happen next Saturday when the Sixers host the Suns

In addition to the previously mentioned changes over the week:

Remaps of CW Plus were added to channel 60 in Butte, Great Falls and Missoula as they no longer have an OTA affiliate. (Depending on what happens with WADL, it might be added to Detroit too in the next few weeks)

Some rebalancing of the Idaho Falls and Columbus GA locals

The targetted Golden Knights Info, League Pass on Us and Gemini offer channels were removed. The Protection Plan offer is back in test on 9758

CINE 175 was repurposed for the targetted Suns Info slate on 9757

The NBA Game Mix is now using what was the MLB Game Mix

SportsNet Rocky Mountain's SD INFO channels are now pointing to what was 683 SNRM.

Tweaks to add "On Demand" to the names of the SVOD channels, and hiding the VOD record for the defunct MGM HD

Passing along Gracenote's correction to the callsign for 33.2 XHASTDT2 Tijuana in the San Diego DMA (Mexican digital TV stations have "-TDT" as their callsign suffix)

As college basketball gears up, it is starting to look like the 2 additional ESPN+ Business channels that were supposed to be added but never happened, now will be on 9519 and 9520… i guess because DirecTV wanted to keep Amazon TNF on both 9526 and 9550, this is according to the constantly updated Joe Hand program schedule

We will wait to see what will happen next Saturday when the Sixers host the Suns
DTV will have both NBCS Philly and AZ family feeds up on NBA LP for the 1pm game , but NBCS Philly won’t be up for the Flyers game at 7pm on NHL CI, all during busy college football and 4 different fight cards (boxing, UFC, WWE) on ESPN+ Business and PPV

They will have the Coyotes feed for the Jets at Coyotes, Canucks, Sabres (635-1), Predators (646-2), Hurricanes (646-1), Panthers (654-1), Blue Jackets (660/661), but no Golden Knights feed on CI. NHLN Alternate and college hockey (628-1) will both be on

More on NBA, we have the Jazz (687-2), Hornets (646-4/649-1), Pacers (671-4), Pelicans (676-4), Nuggets (681-1), Kings (698-1) feeds available on LP
