DIRECTV Transponder Map ~ Data 1/8/2025

They likely date back to at least the mid 2000s, since the SD feeds for TruTV (ex-CourtTV) and Pop (ex-TV Guide) have CCIDs 203 and 224, which match channel numbers they last had in 2007.
They conceivably could go back to before DIRECTV implemented their Advanced Program Guide (APG) structure.

The patents that reference the CCID predate the existence of the Apple App Store and Google Play's original Android Market incarnation.

They use it to identify the records wherever they are used internally (i.e. signal monitoring and automation) or externally (i.e. online guides and apps)

I suspect they are used to configure your receiver as to what channels you are authorized for. We have not found anything in the APG records that links an individual channel to a package. And some LIL channels are only available in some narrow geographic areas. So they have to have a way to store a list of subscribed channels to your STB, perhaps on the access card.
