The DirecTV Terk S26 dish has a built in multi-switch with four outputs. I was told by the salesman that I could connect my personal TV antenna to one of them and, if a local channel was broadcasting an HDTV program, receive it through my Satellite Dish connection.

Is this accurate?

Thanks!

NO!!!! the TERK S26 is a Phase 3 satellite Dish those are outputs not inputs. You need to find a different place to buy your satellite equipment, some place that knows what they are talking about. You can use a diplexer to combine an OTA antenna with a satellite signal so they both go down the same cable. You will also need a diplexer at the other end to split out the OTA signal from the satellite signal.

Thanks!

Thanks! I thought it sounded fuzzy. I already have my personal antenna cable to my receiver anyway. I presume that, if there's a local HD broadcast I can receive it that way.
