A few months ago, I posted an inquiry about the obsolete receiver notice we had on one of the DirecTV channels. We got a new receiver in the mail and hooked it up with no problems. Now I am getting used to the new remote control. It is just a basic control that just controls the DirecTV box. The only problem I have is the blue box that appears in the lower right hand corner of the tv screen about three minutes before a pre-selected program is to start. Does anybody know of a way to get rid of this annoying and distracting little blue box without doing it manually each time. It appears on the screen of the programs I have recorded on tape so cannot be clicked away there. Not a great problem I admit....just annoying! Thanks..

The blue box says "The receiver will autotune to (name of program) on channel ____ at (time)". In the lower right hand side it has two choices you could select: "OK Autotune or Don't Autotune." It appears about three minutes before the preselected program would start and stays until the next program starts or you manually click on one of the two choices. It is annoying more than anything else.

In the menu settings you should be able to see a To Do List, delete the auto-tunes. Sounds like it is set to change channels to a series or something. Kinda like a DVR wanting to change channels to record a show, but it is a non-DVR so it just wants to change channel.

Yes, all it does is remind me that the channel is going to change because I selected it to change. No big deal, just a bit annoying. It took me a few years when we first got DirecTV to learn that I could preselect a channel. I was recording late night shows on the VCR and would set the alarm to get up and manually change the channel! DUH!
