directv receivers and cec control

am i the only person that is using cec to control a tv volume or avr?

i keep getting told on the att forums that it wont work, yet it does.

hr34, samsung 55" 6500, denon 2100

I use it with HR54, Samsung sound bar and Vizio TV. Volume buttons control tv volume but it tells the sound bar volume to adjust

am just curious becuase when i got the new tv, i never programmed the remote, just turned on cec, and it worked
when i added the avr, same thing, just told the tv no sound

I'm also using it with my Sony TV & Onkyo AVR(Soon to be Panasonic TV & Yamaha AVR) it works well.
