Directv PQ

I know this has come up again and again, but will directv ever ease up on the compression of their SD channels? This week the PQ on directv seems to have gotten a lot worse, especially on my sony wega 36'' EDTV. I was watching Amazing Stories on sci-fi, and I could easily see macroblocking on the dark reds and greens from 15 feet away. My neighbors analog cable looks a lot better on the channels that do not have a lot of snow.

Oh, and I am using the best connection possible for all of my tvs, s-video.
