DirecTV MediaShare for video?

HR34 - The splash screen for MediaShare says it's for Music, Photos and Video, but so far I can't find a compatible video file that will play. It tried to play a .mkv file, but the screen went black.

It plays music from the computer just fine.

Just wondering if there are future plans to allow for playing video...?

After some further research, MediaShare can only play videos in an MPEG-2 container and probably some other requirements as well. I could not get it to work at all, but at least one person has a tutorial on how to get it playing videos through ushare though it requires some heavy editing to the ushare config file.

It works fine with Playon DNLA server.
