DirecTV Latin America DVR Availability

Hi,

I'm currently subscribed to DirecTV in Puerto Rico. The satellite signal used here is from DirecTV Latin America. I have asked to the local offices when does the DVR TiVo service will be available and nobody seems to have any idea on when, if ever, this will be available.

My question or questions are:

1) Is the DVR TiVo a special service that needs like a special satellite signal?


2) Even if the DVR receivers are currently not being offered by our local offices, can I acquire a DVR on my own, connect it to my DTV antenna, and be able to use it?
