Anyone know if DirecTV has any plans to make it affordable to be a customer in Alaska. I have Dish right now, and am MUCH happier with it than I was with the digital cable up here but I would love to be able to have DirecTV for the NFL package.

If there is anyone with any inside knowledge about this ever happening, would be interested to hear it.

Thanks!

Other than needing a larger dish, what makes it not affordable now? Where abouts in Alaska are you? Have you spoken with a local DirecTV dealer?

Six foot dish (minimum), plus installation (since the installation is usually an all day event) runs well over a thousand dollars. Far too expensive for me, plus it takes up a good portion of your yard.
