TiVo said it added a record 209,000 subscriptions during the third quarter, nearly double the growth seen during the same period last year, and management increased its guidance for subscription growth for the fourth quarter.
Approximately 150,000 net new subscriptions came through DirecTV in the quarter, which represents growth of nearly 100 percent over the second quarter, and nearly 10 times the number of new DirecTV subscriptions added during the same three-month period last year, the company said.
TiVo said it expects to add 325,000 to 375,000 net new subscriptions in the fiscal quarter ending Jan. 31, finishing the period with up to 1.377 million subscriptions. Management said it expects about two-thirds of fourth quarter growth in subscriptions, and about 15 percent of fourth quarter service revenues, will come from its partnership with DirecTV.
