The initial run of HR-20s was small, because there were still a lot of software problems. Now that some of the units are out in the field, they're getting a lot of feedback, so hopefully the next run will have many of the issues resolved out of the box.

dave left me haging around for 6 hours yesterday.
\was supposed to get hd dvr at my new location.
called them the night b4 to confirm
was told no probs.
eventually after one hr on the mobile phone { cellular}
was told bry local installer that I was unsheduled by DTV
well was pretty pissed / supervisor tried to soothe me with 110 credit.

1/3 0f price for hd dvr

now heres the rest of the story
they ahve now put me on this priority list that did not exist when I was given firm date for new installation, which is in fact just a move for existing customer.
they will not commit to when they can give me hd dvr
so I asked them to do the 4 room with standard recievers
which they are updating free of charge.
but ttold them to install the hd dish.
was told no-------------- will have to come back and install new dish .

so now I have to wait for a standard installation for 4 rooms

heres my question guys
can I buy hddvr fro best buy/circuit city.
and then inform dtv that I need the installation changed to HD dish

now just 5 mins a another idiot phoned me from cleveland oh dtv .

I am in naples fl , guy asked iof I am happy
gave him 20 mins of story
then he calls me back and asks me to rebook service with him
asked if he can read my accont and install info.
in the end I gave up cos the guy obviously is on commission and want a new sale if I cancel my existing order
bloody hell , this is a quagmire.

but really my main inquiry is

can I get DTV to do my move/installation with A HD DISH
IF I purchase it seperately

ask for a h20 and u'll get that at9 hd dish as part of the install.
