I just got a CoolSat 8000 and where i live there is a direct tv dish with one LNB and double polarization, can use this dish with my receiver and which satellites will I be able to get

Thanks in advance

any idea how to set it up , I tried but it can't get any channels , just locals with antenna when scanned

You're not going to get much on the DBS birds, which are all that dish will get you.

You want to set the receiver up for a L.O. of 11250, LNB type standard, no DiSEqC, no motor, no 22k.

If the dish is pointed at a DirectTV satellite you will get nothing. It will have to be aimed at one of the dish network birds as listed in the thread in the post by dfergie. To do that, the azimuth (compass direction) and elevation (how high it points in the sky) would need to be changed to point at the satellite you choose to watch.
