Direct tv help!

Hello, I am a dishnetwork installer. I am trying to hook up an extra reciever from my mothers house at my grandmothers. My mother has a slim line dish at her house, and at my grandmothers im using a used 3 lnb dish. I don't have my birdog so im using the signal meter on the reciever to aim it. I can scan the whole sky and can't get any signal on any satelite. Can someone please help me. What am I missing?

What kind of receiver is it? And does your mom have a SWM system?

I got it, I switched the dish type and got it but thanks for the reply
