There are only 2 Dishes that you typically would use for current equipment ...Ok so i am looking to set up direct tv here in St Albert near edmonton.
What dish is best to get HD???
I was unsure if that dish did the SWM stuff or not (LNB would fit ?), thats why I didn't suggest it.In Alaska we use a 1.2 mtr 48 inch dish. Try getting a bigger dish it can only help

Well, then that would be the best way to go if you think Signal Strength is the issue, not knowing if the footprint makes it far enough north, it's a cost that the user would have to foot and be prepared if it doesn't help.It fits they use it in Hawaii as well

No, it's against Canadian law (apart from being a breach of the DirecTV terms of service).
Not a huge law breaker in my eyes buddy, bigger things to worry about these days eh?!Uh huh.

Would i pick up HD with this dish?
sorry im new to all this may be a dumb question?
I mentioned earlier that they may be outside of the footprint as well.Check this link and tell me how you think a bigger dish is going to help. You have to be inside the pink line for stable reception: https://sites.google.com/site/satkml/home/directv-12-103w-conus
