Diplexer

Has anyone tried using passive diplexers to combine and split satellite and ota signals? I just wondered if the insertion loss is enough to affect either signal noticeably.

yes I've used them and yes they work

There is a small drop of signal quality especially over long cable runs. But in my bedroom there is only one cable there and I needed it for Dish & antenna. Used two diplexers and it worked great

It's about 2.0 dB loss on each diplexer. Like Iceberg said, you'll notice it only if you have long cable runs.

That may be too much loss for me as I am already having problems receiving HDTV.
