:confused:I looked around on the forums and found nothing about this question. I bought a Digiwav DGL1189S Ku Twin Circular/Linear Polarization LNBF to use on another motorized dish I am planning to buy to use when we are out on vacations. I know these are being advertised as picking up the Echostar 119 and the 118 w/ Anik F3 one circular one linear. My question is, can I use this like I have my home FTA motor setup now? I mean if I just bought a 31’ 36’ dish with motor, can I use the Digiwav like I use my Invacom Circular/Linear Quad LNBF QPH-031. Or better question is can I use this in place of my Ivacom now on my motor system as a replacement and change the LNB to Universal and scan both Linear Birds and Circular? I found this LNB cheep and new on eBay and bought it for the vacation system I am currently buying everything for, I am minus the dish and HH motor (Think about going 90 – 120 CM and a Stab HH120- I wanted to find a SaTracer 3 but everybody’s out of them!) to complete it. I was told that the DGL1189S would work just like the Invacom and they said better on some satellites. Another question, was told that this is like 4 LNB’s in one, how is that? I thought we just have one side of the Digiwav circular and the other cable out linear. Does this LNB send down both at the same time on one output? Just a bit confusing I guess. Long story short do I need to get another LNB for my vacation setup or will this work as if my home Invacom died and I just bought the DGL1189S to replace it on my motor system? I really appreciate the fast answers I get here and it seems like no question is to lame! I want to thank Iceberg for his help in past questions PSB, Sadoun, voomvoom, hwh, and Scott Greczkowski I am going to become a member this spring! This is by far the best site for information, news about everything satellite and them some! Keep up the good work guys! I bet I will have some more dumb questions to ask about these things!

I am a little confused, I don't think the LNB can pick up the 118.7 satellite since it uses linear frequencies but circular polarization, that does not matter because there isn't any FTA on that satellite.

Here is a previous review of that LNB: http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-ai...digiwave-dgl1189s-lnb-linear-circ-review.html

From everything I have read you should be able to pick up circular and linear signals (Except 118.7) with that LNB.

Satellite DVB Sales : Digiwave DGL-1189S Circular & Linear Combo Dual LNBF, LNB & LNBF, Digiwave_DGL-1189S

DIGIWAVE DGL-1189S
Circular & Linear Combo Dual LNBF
Use only one LNB to receive signals from 119 and 118.8 Satellites
Price: $19.95
KU Band Universal Linear & Circular Dual output LNB with Dual polarization.

Works for all circular satellites, i.e. EchoStar 3 (Dish Network 61.5), Echostar 6/8 (Dish network 110), Echostar 7 (Dish network 119 &118.8), EchoStar 1/2 (Dish Network 148), All DirecTV, All Bell ExpressVu and other Circular Polarity satellites.
Specially designed for catching 119 (Echo 7) & 118.8 (Anik F3) at the same time using one such LNB

When using a big dish such as 30" or 39" size, it also catches linear satellites; plus one output gets both circular and linear signal. Work. It also works for Dish 500 and Super Dish.

It works with all FTA receivers; just set LNB type as Universal LNB in your receiver menu.• Dual Output LNBF
• Input Frequency Range from 10.70Ghz ~ 12.75Ghz
• Output Frequency Range from 950Mhz ~ 2150Mhz
• L.O.: 9.75GHz and 10.60Ghz
• Low Phase Noise for Analog or Digital reception
• Excellent D.R.O. stability
• Noise Figure: 0.5dB (typ.)
Best solution for and motorized satellite systems

Package Content
1 x Digiwave DGL1189S KU Twin LNBF ( Circular/Linear Polarization)

OK

My current setup is Coolsat 6000 Premium 2007 Version Satellite Receiver(Factory!), Motek Digipower SG-2100 DiSEqC Motor, Invacom QPH-031 Quad Polar LNB 2nd Gen dual out Circular and Linear, Fortec Star 80 cm (31 inch) Satellite Dish On Skywalker Pole Mount. Coolsat 6000 Premium 2007 Version From Loopout on the main Receiver (To Bedroom)

Scenario, say my Invacom went down and died and I replaced it with this Didiwav LNB, will it work like the Invacom did bringing down Circular / Linear signals?
Would this be a good replacement for my set up now as a replacement LNB or would it be better to just go buy another Invacom? I was told that this would work like my home setup on another system just like the QPH-031 by the sat-sales people when I bought this last week. I have it here now. Do I need to put this back on eBay and get one that works like another QPH-031 or will the Digiwav work like a QPH-031 on a motorized setup? I hope this explains what I am asking and trying to do with the DGL1189S. :confused:Thanks

FYI – I am not using this LNB to hack D* programming! Want to be clear there! My FTA boxes have the factory bins in them right from the manufacture out of the box! I do not plan to place a serial cable on the back them anytime soon! I subscribe to D* and have bee a customer of theirs for about 9 years now. My question is plainly this, would the Digiwav work like an Invacom for a replacement LNB on a motorized dish or not. The reference to the 118 satellite above was in the sat-sales.com description of this item. I know there is nothing free on that bird but I never asked if there were, I just want to know if the Digiwav would work on a motorized system if that was the only LNB one had to use. I want it to bring down NASA at the 119 Slot but also to use it for the FREE RTN’S on Galaxy 10R K and things on the AMC 4 – IA 5 Free stuff to. Again, I am building a system just to use at our cabin and found the Digiwav at a great price! Use it with a new set up or just by another Invacom??

Thanks again for all the help guy's!

From everything I have read you should be able to pick up circular and linear signals (Except 118.7) with that LNB.

To restate what I said before, it will work, (It might not be as good as the Invacom, or it might be better) you will be able to pick up linear FTA and Circular NASA.

(I have used and are using a no-name brand LNB that work better than my Invacom :( :))

:)That is the answer I needed thanks qwert1515! I am still thinking about another Invacom though. It has been a great little LNB! I have everything but the dish now and motor shopping around for one, seen those GOSPELL dishes from Canada but I think I will go 90 CM or bigger for this new set up. I seen a post by someone on here (think it was Iceberg) about a 3ABN 36’ dish for $50. Still shopping around though. My 80 CM home setup has not let me down yet and so far it seems big enough for my area! qwert1515, what are the numbers – range – gain on that generic you got? Available for purchase online? If one performs better than the QPH-031 it would have to be a better one! Keep me informed if you would. Hope all the guy’s had a Great Easter Holiday! :up:usa

Thanks again for another question answered! Bet there will be more later on down the road!
