different bird for local channels?

on Aug 1st i started receiving my local channels at my beach house for the first time. My locals are from the Bluefield -Beckley WV and second home is in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there a change that just happened to make this possible, the homes are 400 miles apart and never worked before Aug 1st but now do,just wondering.

Considering that Bluefield is about 350 miles from Myrtle Beach, that's quite a feat!
