I'm changing my current slimline setup because my current SL5S can only do 8 tuners and I need 9+ for the future.

I'm going swap out with legacy 4 wire SL5 but I noticed people selling different versions of it, they all look the same but different serials, some of them have PIG in the name, do I have to be concerned on which one I end up getting? And what is the difference between them, I have seen reference to this pigtail version but not sure what it is. Is there a certain serial I should aim for?

Also, in this legacy setup with an SL5, SWM16, SWS8,CCK, HR44, HR24, do I need to order B band converters? And if so, which receivers do they go on the back of?

Thanks

First, if you have SWM either using an LNB or using SWM multiswitches you do NOT need b-band converters.
Second, it does not really matter which SL5 non-SWM you order. The ones with PIG in their name means they come with short RG6 cables (pigtails) which make them more convenient when using a meter at the dish.

Don't forget you will need a power inserter also. The one you are using for your existing dish is probably 21v - the SWM16 needs a 29v power inserter. It's possible the one you have for the dish is 29v since they are OK for the dish but a 21v one is more likely, in which case you will need to replace it.

Thank you for confirming, and clarifying the b-band converter stuff.

I omitted mentioning the power supply but they do seen to be included with whoever is selling them, thanks for mentioning it.
