Did my switch or my lnb fail?

My install was done by Dish...its a Dish 500 and Dish 300 with a SW21 swtich.I have a 6000 in the living room and and 508 in the bedroom.

For the last few weeks I have been getting signal loss in the bedroom and lots of breakup but the living room has been fine.

Sunday I started to get breakup and signal loss (wouldnt lock) in both rooms. At first I could not get any of the transponders from 110 or 119 but 148 was fine. This was on both recievers.

Then the 6000 lost all signal from all three birsds. I did a switch check and it didnt find my switch but now the 508 is running just fine without any issue at all.

What happend?

Strange. I'll assume you meant to say that you have 2 SW-21 switches.

That also means you've got pretty much separate signal paths all the way down the line.

So, my gut is saying water in the connectors.

Troubleshooting will involve swap and test, swap and test until you isolate the failing components.

What color is your smart card in your 6000? Dish sent new cards and as of the 1st disabled any old cards.

My card is yellow and I have never recieved any 'newer' card from dish in the mail.

the yellow cards are the new ones so you're OK there

as Simon said, check all connections (especially when dealing with a SW21)
