diamond 9000 and coolsat NDF

I want to get a coolsat receiver than can blind scan and then pop the NDF into my diamond.

I know the coolsat 5000 uses the same NDF format but i dont want to bother with serial cables...

Anyone know the cheapest coolsat that does blindscan, has NDF format, and usb channel backup writting options.

does the 6100 do it?

the 6100 and up models are different ( and i don't think they use the same type file) than the 4000 5000 & 6000 that use a NDF file

Gotta use a 4/5/6000...with serial. Only way I know. Unless some other receiver can be converted by Channelmaster to NDF format. And that creates its own set of problems.

can u serial right from the 4/5/6000 to the 9000? Never done it but i thought receivers could talk to eachother.

i have no more pc's that do serial and the usb to serial things are slower.

I got a USB/Serial adaptor from monoprice.com, works fine with my wife's laptop.....use it all the time.

From receiver to receiver....I guess it would work....but I wouldn't wanna try it....

Stogie seems happy with his USB adapter. (They may not all be created equal).
