Denver Legalizes POT!

Isn't it funny how the government can legitimize infanticide under the alleged right of privacy on one hand while outlawing dope in another.

I guess its just another reason why they are the mile HIGH city. :)

It also explains why Dish Network has some of the problems it has :D

You're becoming quite the comic! Maybe you and GaryPen can team up, be the next hit comedy act! "Gary & Greczkowski". Put it on your tv show!

Oh great just what the Dish Network guys needed at work :D

OK, as a Colorado resident and Denver native I can tell everyone here that this does not change anything. They passed a measure that legalized "Allowing adults to posses up to one ounce" of weed for personal use. It is still a violation of State and Federal law and even if in Denver county, you may still be charged. All this has done is create more work for the State DA and less for the county. The measure passed like 61% Yes ... had it been Boulder County it would have been passed like 98-2 ... Colorodans do seem to like the funky monkey!

As far as DISH is concerned, they should be looking to rid the LSD ... pot does not have near the effects that those boys seem to cause.

It passed 53%-47% not 61%. But you are correct, it won't change anything. Still going to be that whopping $100 fine if you are "caught". The group that headed the push for the passage of the ordinance has vowed to go after the state law next. The trick for them will to be to get absolutely every person in Boulder county and everyone who works up at the ski areas to vote and they just might get it the state one passed.
And actually Oakland, Ca. was the first "large" city to pass a similar ordinance.
For the record, I voted yes. Again, not that it was going to change anything!

It's the truth. Why doesn't dope fall under the privacy crap? Drugs should be legal IMO although it's not morally right IMO. The so called war on drugs cost too many of us privacy under banking acts and what have you while it makes the crooks in government who bring it in too much money. So as long as the government gets power and money out of it then they will always be illegal.
