Demonic Possession of my HH-90--options?

For reasons that defy logical explanation, as far as I can tell, my Stab HH-90 motor has taken on a personality of its own. Sometimes it works, sometimes it goes to reference position, sometimes it leaves reference and hunts for a bird, sometimes it gets there and decides after five minutes that it wants to do something else.

I've done the reset on the box (Pansat3500) but am not sure if it is possible to do any sort of a reset of the motor (how?). I've done a set of tweaks on the pole to make sure I'm getting the signal quality possible, but now I'm starting to wonder if it is time to trash the motor and a) get another or b) get something else.

Is there something 'better' than the HH-90, or is there a way to reset it?

I've had excellent control of my HH100 with Pansats. Have you tried it with another box to rule out the receiver?

Since the motor draws it power through the co-ax, any poor connection can really mess things up. I would take all connections appart and check them for corrosion and water

I think that's an excellent idea. I'd be looking for bad connections, excess cable length, might even be a fine idea to run a new cable if there's any doubt. I almost remember that the HH90 has a 3 year warranty, if it comes to that .

I will give the cable a check, in fact, probably a replacement to something more sturdy (and a bit shorter).

I was also wondering about the standard 'Radio Shack' signal booster. Any problem using that or will it mess up the FTA/motor?

Forget signal boosters! (amps) I have solved more problems removing them rather than inserting them over the years! They not only amplify the signal but also any noise! Depending on the length of your cable run, I have seen runs of over 200' without a problem!
