debug mode memory dumping on screen???

Does anyone have any information regarding getting into a debug mode where you can dump parts of some older Dish reciever's memory on screen? I know there's a way to do it but have no idea how one would go about doing it. I think it's a pretty closely guarded secret of Dish's Engineering dept.

What is the purpose of a memory dump?

What receiver is this referring to? I tried the above on my 311, and it did not do anything but return to the phone diag screen.

Sometimes this can fix a problem, other times it can leave your receiver dead.

Your better off to only do this when instructed by an Dish Network represenative.
