I get no indication that this LNB still works when I connect a receiver with voltage to it. It seems sealed and I can't open it (even destructively for educational purposes). Any hints how I could make it work again or at least see its electronics?

If there are nuts on the Fcons, remove them.Looks like the waveguide is pressed into the front, try prying/pulling.Otherwise,hacksaw,dremel,big pipe cutter,or as suggested,BFH.can't open it (even destructively for educational purposes)
Isn't that a bandstacked model? It should show signal but won't show quality unless your receiver had a bandstacked option.
That's exactly the type I would get. I have one and it works the best of those I have. Though these days I don't need the universal capability since I can't get any of the eastern sats near Europe anymore.By any chances of getting universal PLL LNBF? Sorry to bump in, just curious.
A true experimenter. I like that.I vote for smashing it with a hammer.....
Good suggestion. If there are nuts on the Fcons, remove them. Looks like the waveguide is pressed into the front, try prying/pulling.....
When I substituted this LNB onto an already aligned dish, and randomly picked one of the connectors to connect to, I found 0 signal. This is why I concluded it's faulty. I expected to see maybe 45 on the receiver. I never tried selecting a bandstacked LO.Isn't that a bandstacked model? What is "bandstacked?"
