I'd like to get DC locals in NYC. From what I read, I need to change my service address to my other home in the DC area, and hope that I get the locals.
I've tried to piece things together from this forum, and from this link I am surmising that the DC local channels are on transponder 18 (ch. 961-973). From this link I am surmising that the same 18 beam that hits DC hits me in NYC.
My questions are:
1) Is my above logic correct? Should I be able to get DC channels in NYC?
2) I read that HD locals will be coming in summer 2005 - would this mean that I would get DC HD locals in NYC? Do people think that the spot beam setup will change much to accommodate this (in which case I could be out of luck)?
3) How long does the "moving" process take? After I tell them my new address, how long before my locals will change? (minutes? hours? days? weeks?)
4) This will change my blackout dates for the NFL ticket package too, won't it?
