DBPOWER DVR???

Searching Newegg for DVB-S2 and got a hit for DBPOWER USB DVR.

Anyone know about the quality of these? Searched forums but found nothing.

Buy one and test it for us. It seems to me to be one of the standard Chinese receivers that are breeding themselves. If so, you are likely to never get any sort of firmware updates, and it'll be a throw-away. That could be ok if it's cheap enough, but there's tons of these in the market and more every day.

I would be concerned about the note part under the overview:

"NOTE:
1. Please do not Upgrade Software & Update Channel Database Through USB2.0 Port

Newegg seems to be selling FTA receivers of various types. Not something I would normally be expecting to see them carry.

I don't think of Newegg when I think of FTA equipment sources.
