I dug this 1.0 meter Channel Master dish out of a dumpster at Menards. What could have it been used for?

I got a .75 Channel Master. It looks just like its smaller brother. Worked good on G10R. Its rather large for a data dish, but you never know. If you look at the LNB that might give you a clue.

He saved big money at...

Great find there, same as my 1m primestars, even the lnb cover looks the same. Should do a nice job on fta.

Wow
how did you get out of the yard at Menards with that thing. Security is pretty strict in the back yard there.

As I sing when I walk thru the Store " Plumbing, electrical, appliances too!!!!, Our Cheap Sh*t will always break down on you, you waste big money , you waste big money when You Shop Menards".

That looks identical to my latest acquisition that I found lying next to an auto parts shop, when I asked they didn't want anymore. Except mine is a white color.

I am still trying to figure out how to either attach a C-band LNBF or make it work with my motor.

This thread has pictures (and links to better pictures), of brackets to attach a C-band LNBf to your LNB support struts.

As for using the dish on C-band, if you'll breeze through Linuxman's thread on the subject, he lists the signals he found:

Wow... complete with the roof mount! That dish and NPRM are identical to my G-18 setup. Just replace the single-polarity LNB and waveguide (which is what you'll likely find under the cover) with a FSS stacked LNB from a Superdish :)

Or use a Hughes c120 lnb. It bolts right up to the feedhorn and fits under the cover and works great. I really like the covered lnb setup. Keeps things protected from the elements.

As for motorizing, try turning the mount upside down and shim with split pieces of 1½ or 2" PVC pipe. You may first want to fix the dish to your true south without a motor and use a protractor to find the correct dish angle as your elevation/latitude scale is useless when you turn the mount upside down.

Good find

Good find. Esp. with roof mount.

I'm still asking business here and there about there old satellites. One of the bars in the next town over was covered with dishes. Then one day they was gone. You talking like 4 cband dishes. HOpe they went to a good home. Most of the roof mounts was gone too. C-Band roof mount would be great but I would even settle for a ku band. I'll find one sooner or latter.

Later,

Josh

The QPH-031 is a good product. It works as well as any LNB I've used, but it is the 1 meter dish that will really help with rainfade issues. Do you have the C-120 flanged version (QPF) or the one with the built-in feedhorn (QPH)? The QPF will bolt directly onto the original feedhorn for that dish.

I cry everytime I drive by one of the bars here in town. They have a ton of C-bands on the roof, in various stages of disrepair ..... and me with no room for them ....
