DirecTV has added an info channel (Channel 100) with information for people in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. It includes disaster relief information for people displaced from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama; it also has insurance claim information, crisis counseling resources, medical shelters and evacuation information.
In addition, it has information for people who are trying to find friends and relatives from the area, or evacuated from the area.
Information from and directed toward many of the cities that vicitms have been evacuated to is also available.
