CX24142 Single-Chip FTA and FTA-CI Set-Top Box System Solution

The CX24142 ICs are the latest in a family of highly integrated, cost effective solutions that enable next generation digital TV applications. Our single-chip DVB compliant device has been optimized to provide a cost-effective solution for non-interactive satellite and terrestrial Free-To-Air (FTA) and Free-To-Air Common Interface (FTA-CI) based services. FTA TV is a simple way to get broadcast digital quality TV signals over traditional analog TV - without the monthly subscription charges. The CX24142 IC family includes an MPEG-2 A/V decoder, transport processor, 32-bit RISC CPU, hardware 2D graphics accelerator, TV encoder, QPSK demodulator, video/graphics display controller, and support for dual DVB-CI modules. To complete a DVB-S system hardware design, only a tuner, audio DAC, SDRAM and flash memory ICs are required. This high level of integration results in a very low-cost system bill-of-materials for worldwide FTA and FTA-CI set-top box markets.

Features

* MPEG-2/DVB broadcast service decoder for DVB-S/T/C markets
* Integrated 1-45 MSps/sec QPSK/ BPSK demodulator/FEC with DiSEqC 2.x signaling support (CX24142/3 only)
* 32-bit 146 MIPS 133MHz ARM9 CPU with 16KB I & D caches
* Dual-slot Common Interface support (CX24142/6 only)
* 16-bit unified memory controller architecture
* Integrated NTSC/PAL/SECAM TV encoder supporting simultaneous CVBS, Y/C & RGB/YPrPb analog video output signals
* Complete V.22 software modem available

NEW TOY!!! CX24130 Dual QPSK/BPSK Demodulator IC

I found new toys!

This one does this...

CX24130 Dual QPSK/BPSK Demodulator IC

Combining Conexant's experience in broadband systems and mixed-signal integrated circuit design, the CX24130 is the ideal solution for a wide variety of applications in DVB/DSS set-top and PC receivers, Personal Video Recorders (PVR), and residential gateways. When combined with satellite tuner RF ICs, such as the CX24109, the CX24130 provides a complete dual broadband satellite front-end solution capable of operating from 10 to 30 MSps.

Features

* Dual QPSK/BPSK demodulation paths
* DVB/DSS compliant
* Symbol rates: 10 to 30 Msps
* Automatic acquisition
* Adaptive (FIR) equalizer
* Internal Viterbi and Reed-Solomon FEC

anyone heard of these. One of these days I'm gonna call and price them.

I'm gonna try, will prolly fail but oh well, I am sure i will learn something.

Somehow I WILL find a way to get mpeg4 DVB stuff.
